Insulation and Hot Water Rebate Changes - 19th February 2010
The Federal Government has announced major changes to its $2.5 billion home insulation program and solar hot water program.
A new Renewable Energy Bonus Scheme will replace the Home Insulation Program and the Solar Hot Water Rebate Program, both of which have been discontinued as of close of business on Friday 19th February 2010.
Under the new Renewable Energy Bonus Scheme, households will receive a $1,000 rebate for solar hot water systems, and $600 for heat pump systems.
Transitional arrangements have been put in place for people who paid for, or ordered their hot water system, prior to 20th February 2010.
The new Renewable Energy Bonus will be available for systems installed after 20th February 2010.
The Government's Green Loan Scheme will also be overhauled.
